He began his radio career on one of Chicago’s top radio stations, B96, at the age of 21, making him one of the station’s youngest on-air personalities. Through his work on the radio and strong dedication to his craft, Jerzy’s recognition has developed from being ‘just another deejay’ to a skilled turntablist. He has been the talent of choice for A-List celebrities such as Michael Bay and Jeremy Piven and invited to spin alongside internationally known musicians like Justin Bieber, Mike Posner, and Pitbull.

Setting a presence everywhere he goes, Big Daddy is the most requested DJ for private events/night clubs in the Chicagoland area. With over 11 years experience, Big Daddy was one of the first DJ’s in Chicago to introduce music video djing to his sets. A true turntablist, his scratching, mixing, and programming allows him to get any crowd in front of him up and rockin.

Today we are finally releasing Ordinary World online.  This was the first short film that Blue Satellite Productions produced in 2009.  After a festival run including showings at 2010 Columbia College/Sundance Film Festival Event, 2010 Chicago United Film Festival, and 2010 Grand Rapids Film Festival.

Ordinary World is a short dramatic film written by Ryan DePesa and Produced/Directed by David Huzieran.

Boom Entertainment is Chicago’s fastest growing entertainment company and that is largely due to their unique approach.  They have revolutionized the high school dance by turning it into what seems more like a rock concert than a school function.

We got a chance to follow them around for months seeing them in action.  It was truly amazing seeing how much work goes into putting these shows together and how much of an impact Boom has on these schools.

Jordan Neuhauser, CEO of Boom, started this company over ten years ago because he felt that his high school dance was not up to par. He knew that if he was able to incorporate some of the elements from concerts and night clubs into a dance, it would be able to have a huge impact.

Most importantly, Jordan knew that high school students these days expect more now than ever. They are constantly immersed in media and technology. The old days of having an old man come plug in his record player to a couple speakers playing outdated songs are over. Welcome in the new revolution of Boom!

We had a great time during the shoot and we want to give a special thanks to Jerzy. Depsite forgetting his lines a few times, he was amazing to work with! All you Chicagoans can check him out on B96 every weeknight from 7pm-12am and Saturdays from 6pm-10pm.

The first set of photos is called The Formula.  It’s based around a hot nerdy chick who is struggling to write the perfect script.

The idea was sparked when he saw his roommate fall into one of the cliche’s of living in Los Angeles.  ”He would just sit in his room for days trying to finish this script.  It seriously looked like he was in pain.” Scott mentioned .

The beautiful Meghan Mathes came into the Blue Satellite Studio last week to play the frustrated writer.  You can see what went on at the photo shoot in the over the shoulder video below:

Blue Satellite Productions would like to thank all the cast, crew, friends, and family that attended the “Ordinary World” private screening held on November 21st.  The short film played to a packed house and received a lot of positive feedback and support from the audience.

The 15 minute short drama was written by Chicago native Ryan DePesa who was inspired to tell a story about a man whose life did not turn out the way he always dreamed it would.  ”I wanted audiences to realize that no matter how hopeless things seem, there might be something incredible happening under the surface. ”

Director/Producer David Huzieran has accredited the films success to his cast.  ”We really had the best talent that Chicago has to offer.  We took our time during the casting process to ensure every role was handed to the right person.  This film almost didn’t happen.  We had auditioned over 200 people by the time we had Roger Bailey, who plays the lead in the film, come in.  He really brought something authentic.  It just felt right.”

David also went on to praise his production team.  ”It’s always a pleasure to work with Scott Regan who was the director of photography on this film.  He’s the type of DP who is just as concerned with the storytelling aspect as he is with the technical side.  A lot of DP’s focus too much of their energy on making everything look pretty and that can really hurt the film.  Scott’s minimalistic lighting style complemented the characters and reality of the world within the film beautifully.”

The film was scored by Nick Monteleone.  Sound Design was by Matt Harting who also doubled as the Musical Producer and mixed the entire film at Earhole Studios in Chicago.

The film will be hitting the festival circuit for 2010.

Ordinary World is a short dramatic film written by Ryan DePesa and Produced/Directed by David Huzieran. It stars local Chicago talent Roger Bailey as “Michael McBride”, a high school valedictorian turned medical school drop out, who has to come to terms with his life as his 10 year high school reunion approaches. The film also features Katy Orender, Emily Vajda, Jamie Newell, and Elaine Ivy Harris in supporting roles.

This short marks the second collaboration between Director/DP duo David Huzieran and Scott Regan who are currently teaming up again to shoot another film in Chicago in the upcoming year.

The film is in the last stages of post production and will be officially released in November where it will begin its festival run.
